Friday, July 16, 2021 - Annual gathering with Chicago winos in Chicago (Smyth and The Loyalist - Chicago IL): Expressive youthful nose displaying bright red fruit, strawberry, raspberry, white flowers, cedar, raw shiitake, spicy spices and earth. Very good concentration, very finely layered bright red fruit, very focused and slightly lean, bright acidity, strong limestone mineral, still noticeable fine tannins, and a long bright red fruit driven finish with raw shiitake at the end. This is a very polished slightly lean and structured Richeboug, an iron fist in the velvet glove.
