Tuesday, November 24, 2015 - Popped and poured. I generally find Carlisle Syrah to be incredibly monolithic and somewhat tough when young. Fortunately, this one has entered its young adulthood. Garnet red color with some bricking at the rim. It has that resolved wine mouth feel and taste while still retaining a core of sweet fruit. Tannin is resolved but there is still acid that keeps the wine fresh and balanced. This is on its maturity plateau right now. Excellent for an appellation wine.
