Wednesday, May 5, 2010 - On the nose - cherry, strawverry, straw and anise. Great tannins and acidity and as well balanced as I remember from the last time I tasted this wine. Still young, but a beautiful wine hiding away, just waiting for some special event years down the road.

5/5/2010 5:54:00 PM - I have this in my cellar based on my enjoyment of previous vintages, but I haven't tried it yet. I've always found the Castiglione to be a good value Barolo when I can find it in the $35 range. Glad to hear that you like it. Perhaps I should pick up a few more bottles!
On a related note, looks like you've been tasting some great wines lately.

5/5/2010 7:18:00 PM - definitely a great wine at $35, but i've only found it in the low $40's. but, my consolation is that the barbera d'asti is a very nice alternative and under $20. i picked up a case of that and have been enjoying every bottle.
yep, on a bit of a streak lately with good wines - but, starting to slow down a bit.
