Wednesday, June 15, 2011 - Dark maroon core with a clear rim. The nose shows black cherry and coffee grounds. Medium acidity- shockingly low for Barbera. The palate is rather lean with some trademark tart cherry, but oak and tannin overwhelm the fruit, and there isn't enough acidity to balance things out. Medium finish obscured by sharp, biting tannins.

Not a good example of Barbera.
