Tuesday, March 2, 2010 - I was so ready to love this wine but its peculiar bitter finish turned me off. When I taste Riesling like this from California I immediate think I could have found better value in Germany.

I dunno- it just didn't do it for me. Could be a level-of-sweetness-preference thing. I tend to like sweeter Rieslings than most I'd say. One of my favorite German Rieslings, though some might not consider it dry, is: http://www.grapestories.com/note.asp?iWine=724107&iNote=1158824

3/27/2010 5:23:00 PM - this is very funny - i just commented on your cupcake cellars asking for a dry riesling suggestion and i forgot about this one - still have a few bottles in my cellar. i actually liked the bitter finish and gave it 89 points, but i think that's my thing with rieslings - dry, dry, dry. you're right, not a great qpr on this, to be sure, but i haven't found comparable german qpr wines yet.
