Friday, November 27, 2015 - Opaque purple color with a reflective edge. The nose is powerful and attractive with hints of violets, black fruits, mocha, and eucalyptus. This wine is unmistakably full-bodied, muscular, with a dense structure, good acidity, and fleshy texture. Flavors of black and red currants, damp earth, dark chocolate, licorice, espresso, meat, and suede leather form a formidable core that gives a whopping mid palate extending to a long, mentholated finish. This is quite a good show from Château Ducru Beaucaillou - powerful and well-integrated. Drink now with a 15-minute decant to until 2023.
