Sunday, December 10, 2023 - Medium-light reddish garnet in color with a slight amber tint & distinct clearing at the edges. Full, forward & fragrant nose of mature, ripe fruit aromas of cherries & strawberries with overtones of cigar box notes of cedar & tobacco, earthy/dusty/loam, leather, herbs & a hint of smoky notes in the background. Medium bodied with a good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, mature, ripe fruit flavors of sweet cherries & tart cranberries with herbs, minerals & a hint of oak. Lingering dry finish. Drinks relatively well at present but at 53 years of age, it appears on its decline, so best to drink up soon. Ullage was at upper shoulder right below neck; cork was stained 3/4 & crumbled upon opening.
