I often find Janasse's wines too extracted, too sweet, too much - but this is actually a pretty decent bottle. There is tons of kirsch liquor and a somwhat jammy sweetness to this wine, but its not in a bad way. Rich on alcohol for sure, I find it a tiny bit heady. Very forward, lush wine. I wonder if the Vieilles Vignes is less extracted than the Chaupin. Good, positive surprise. Dinner at home with Niels Lillelund, Jim and Ea.
