Community Tasting Note

Monday, February 13, 2012 - Aerate to decanter 2 hours. Garnet toward brick red color, no sign of age. Aromas were clean at first, but after a few minutes deep notes of sulphur, stewed cabbage and barn funk moved in. After 2 hours in of aeration in the decanter, all of the less attractive aromas were gone. In their place, some cherry, leather, notes of resin and herbs. Medium-bodied palate with fresh acidity. Avg complexity, very primary. Average finish. Not as clean as I would have liked. 5 years of bottle rest are in order. Drink thru 2017, 14,5% abv, score: B/B+
