Thursday, December 5, 2013 - Let's take another look at this producer. I used to buy their wine because I thought they were a very solid cab producer at a very reasonable price point. I was right. I opened it Monday night and it had a restrained but elegant nose with black cherry and black currant flavors in the mouth - a bit of smoke and that hint of baking chocolate often found in good Washington cab. Pretty balanced with fine, dusty tannins. It sat uncorked on my table until Wednesday night and it was gorgeous. Soft and elegant, but with a brooding depth to get lost in. Really lush, smooth, black fruit flavors but with a streak of ripe plum. Time to buy more Soos Creek.
