Monday, February 21, 2011 - Popped and poured and consumed over several hours. Nose a little shy, but showing ripe purple fruits with a floral quality, violets, meat and pepper. Palate is lush, with ripe currants and berries, with striking acidity and chewy tannins. Quite structured and light on the palate despite its depth and good complexity. Lengthy finish with dark fruits, pepper, and just a hint of tar come out. Really nicely put together syrah, most impressive for its acidity and friendliness with food. When you factor in the price, a no brainer. Fantastic value.
