Sunday, December 6, 2020 - This was the first ever vintage produced by Chiara Boschis and therefore the first ever Barolo produced by a woman – can't make a wine more feminist than that. There is peppery spiciness, savoury notes, tobacco and char coal, ripe red cherry and some brighter strawberry bruit. This continued to add layers of complexity with aging aromas are fabulously balanced by an intense fruit. If you know what you’re looking for you’ll find rose water scents. The palate is a show stopper. Fleshy and rich, full of dried tobacco leaves, leather and a raisin-like fruit, fresh acidity and a long, flavoured finish. But in order to get there, this needed every second of the 5h decant.
