Sunday, October 4, 2015 - At home, opened and drank over two days. Nicely aged, purchased direct, in my cellar from release. Kistler gets leaner with some bottle age (in my experience) taking on interesting secondary, nuanced characteristics. This wine took about 30 minutes to start to show (a decant would help if planning to drink w/dinner).

Nose was lemongrass, petrol, honeysuckle, white flowers. Starting to show some tertiary aromatic characteristics of rubber, still fragrant. Strong mineral/stone on the front palate, followed by lemon zest, vanilla, banana, nuts. Oak is there but integrated. Well balanced, medium finish.

Elegant and refined, this bottle was drinking beautifully right now (over 2 days). If tasted (and smelled) blind I would have pegged as a white Burgundy...suggesting a longer arc ahead of it.
