Saturday, July 7, 2018 - Herbs, dark fruit, tar on the nose, brighter fruit, stable, beef, herbs, tar, tar, tar, floral hints on the palate. Lots of smooth tannins with bright fresh acidity, high concentration, super balance. Had its best moments after 90 minutes in the glass with highly intense tar and bright red fruit aromas accompanied by fine herbal and floral scents. The three highlights for me: 1) High concentration paired with great elegance and finesse, 2) intense tar minerality, 3) high complexity with ever changing aromas.

We did not decant the wine and just let it breath in the glasses which did the job. Nevertheless, I would advise for a short decant. Some more years in the bottle will certainly further soften the tannins and make it even better, there is plenty of freshness and fruit left.
