Saturday, January 21, 2012 - Wine was tasted blind.

Appearance: bright, clear, with medium + ruby color.

Nose: clean, pronounced intensity, youthful aromas of spices: pungent spice of black pepper, sweetspices of cloves, ginger, nutmeg; red fruit aromas of under ripe red cherry, and hints of animal aromas of meat and farmyard.

Palate is: dry, medium + acidity, medium tannins, medium alcohol, medium – body. Medium + flavor intensity with aromas of pungent spice of black pepper, sweet spices of cloves, ginger nutmeg; red fruit aromas of under ripe red cherry, and animal, meat and farmyard. Length is medium +

Wine is of very good quality: it is balanced in its tannins, acid and fruit character; the structure in harmony, it reveals complex aromas of fruit, spice and animal, and has a medium + finish. It is very typical to cooler climate areas.

It can drink now but will develop for the next 10 years.

Guess: Northern Rhone Syrah, $25.
