Tuesday, July 18, 2023 - David's btl tonight in the same flt with my 08 Mugnier NSG Clos Marechale. Made for a wonderful comparison of 2 great producers in the same vintage & appellation! The Chevillon was truer to classic NSG in weight, power and richness while the Mugnier could easily be mistaken for Chambolle blind. The Chevillon was concentrated, elegant, complex & long. Featured rich blk fruits, mineral, earth, spice & emerging forest floor on both the nose & palate. This was opened at the restaurant and likely would have benefited from more air prior to its arrival. Some of our table mates expressed slight reduction & oxidation concerns but I escaped noticing either. Certainly, close to peak but still very enjoyable for me. Thanks David. 92-93
