Sunday, July 5, 2015 - No formal notes taken but still worth a mention. Poured into decanter and started drinking right away. Not having much experience with aged burgundy, this really was an eye-opener: Hugely aromatic, with tea and rose petals mixed with a bit of spice and tobacco. So rewarding, I think I smelled it three or four times for each sip. Initially feeling youthful and still somewhat structured on the palate, but with "back-end" complexity that really left an impression. Great length and probably the best balance I've felt in any wine. Could very well be on the rise still, but if I had another it would be open right now.
