Monday, October 1, 2012 - This wine was a pleasant surprise, exceeded our expectations. 74% Zin, according to label. Color was inky, no doubt due to 21% Petite Sirah. STRONG nose of dark cherry and other dark fruit. Taste is of robust berry, currant, wood, touch of leather. This wine is AT PEAK., drinking superbly, with good balance of acidity and integrated although present tannins. Better than medium finish. This wine is IDEAL for grilled meat or poultry. Reading the Ridge label, we can tell these folks put their heart and soul into making each wine. This full-bodied, yet elegant Dry Creek Zin was great on QPR, one of best Zin/Zin-based wines we have had for some time.
