Friday, December 27, 2013 - selected members of the central jersey CT off-line group joined us for dinner at selkirk manor. shared this bottle with pat, chris, margaret and dom. paired with dessert course consisting of a cheese plate provided by dom followed by italian cheesecake from la bella market. was unfamiliar with this wine at the time of tasting but researched afterward. i agree with various articles indicating that in a blind tasting this would pass for a better than average sauternes. generous nose. typical mouthfeel of a french sticky. lots of honey and honeysuckle with a hint of tea on the palate. more interesting on the second day than the first as it seemed to have put on some weight. this is understandandable given the considerable longevity suggested by parker. the only shortcoming was a slight metallic taste in the finish although this was less noticeable on the second day. seems to be a great qpr even though i can't score as high as parker did. overall, a great experience. thanks for your generosity chris.
