90 Points

Monday, September 19, 2011 - Fine Vines Fall Grand Tasting (OneSixtyBlue, Chicago IL): nose: there's a dark red fruit core underneath a rustic backdrop with tones of dark red fruits, earth tones, brown spices and dark red cherries. Good depth, but it is holding back a bit on the nose.

taste: medium bodied with medium+ acidity and some sneaky tannins. There's a nice underlying structure with tones of dark red fruits, earth tones and dark red cherries.

overall: this needs some time to shed the fat. There is a riper quality to it due to the vintage, but this is still very much a NSG. This could use at least another 5-8 years and drink for a long time.
