Tuesday, December 2, 2014 - Deep ruby color. Surprisingly, this wine needed no decant to be approachable; however, it did evolve over 2+ hours. Nose opened up with dark cherries, plum, brown spices, vanilla, and graphite. The palate displayed more elegance than power. Tannins prominent, but rounded and integrating well. A very well-balanced wine. Overall, this wine was highly enjoyable from start to finish. I can only imagine that it will improve over the next 10+ years. I would have no reservations opening another bottle in the near future, however. I'm sure I will.
