Thursday, April 25, 2019 - Opened three hours before decanting, allowed to breathe then served. Classic nose of the St Julien, ripe and floral with spice and a hint of cigar ash. Same on the palate, still lush in spite of age, wonderful graceful finish. Opened in celebration of Eric's gift to us all 15 years ago when he presented us with CellarTracker, by far the most useful cellar management system I've ever encountered. For me, it replaced three printed cellar books and two previous on-line databases over the last 30-odd years. Now all that's required is self-discipline to maintain it. Still working on that.
Many thanks, Eric. And congratulations on your baby's 15th birthday!
