Thursday, November 27, 2008 - (Drank at the Prime Rib.) Perfect Thanksgiving wine: it's big, wide open, and super generous. Smoke, cigar box, currant, cloves, roses, and TONS of spice on the nose, with more currant on the full-bodied palate. A few tannins clamp down in the middle, but they're sweet ones and will probably resolve with time. I'm amazed that this is drinking so well already. The medium-length finish rounds out a really bold, almost New-World sort of wine.
