Thursday, June 10, 2021 - Decanted. Lovely classic nose right upon opening which kept up over a couple of hours. Medium deep red no signs of age in the color. St. Julien nose of graphite, sandalwood, dark fruits and sage. On the palate this has excellent medium weight flavors with nice integration of fruit and tannins, which are quite fine and not at all obtrusive. This is only missing the depth and power of better vintages such as 82 and 90. A tribute to a fine terroir and wine making team in a challenging vintage. I think this is at or close to peak drinkability.
