Sunday, August 21, 2022 - Subtle and sophisticated, this is a classy Las Cases, thanks to TC for sharing this at both tea time and our Overseas Imbi dinner last night!

Raspberry nose, and then plenty of black licorice on the palate. Wow, a long finish!

76% CS, 13% Merlot, 11% CF..
Jean-Hubert Delon, of Domaines Delon (LLC has been with the family since the late 19th century!) in this 2004 vintage tried to create a lighter version inspired by the 1986/96 LCs. I think he has succeeded, it is not such a typical big bold Saint-Julien.

Luscious mouthfeel and very fine tannins, nice complex layers. This is both a good Wine for solo drinking, but also one which pairs with Char Siew or barbecue roast pork Chinese style!

Preparation.. One bottle was decanted for an hour, whilst the other was left to bottle breathe for 3 hours. The slight barnyard and earthy aromas went away to be replaced by red fruit aromas!

1st bottle at home.. 2nd bottle in Overseas Imbi, Malaysia - 21 Aug 2022
