Sunday, October 23, 2011 - Tasted blind from a decanter. Clear lemon, with medium intensity. The nose is clean, of medium plus intensity. The nose is youthful and fresh but is not likely to improve with age. There is a flood of beautiful floral aromas (orange blossom and gardenia), ripe nectarine and melon. The palate is dry and quite a departure from the aromatic sweetness of the nose. The palate has flavors of stone fruit (peach) citrus (grapefruit), melon and a nice minerality. The acidity is medium, the alcohol and body are all medium to medium plus. The flavor intensity is medium plus, but the length of the finish is rather short. Overall, the wine was good, but disjointed. Maybe that is the nature of Torrontes itself. Very drinkeable now, and not intended for ageing. A great value at $10.00 and below. I liked it better than the other tasters, who found it to be just acceptable.
