Friday, April 12, 2024 - At home with Margherita pizza, last tasting 2015...in my cellar from shortly after release. One of those "forgotten bottles", thought it was time (maybe past) to get another one open. PnP, very soft cork, broke on way out.

Dark garnet core, separating at the edges. Nose showing, dark fruits, herbs, garrigue, violets. Palate of blackberry, boysenberry, blue fruits, savory, spice/cloves, herbs, vanilla. A lot going on...blackberry thought the mid palate, some heat persists into the finish. Full body, long finish.

Hitting all the classic Syrah/Shiraz notes. Nicely aged, elegant, rich and "savage" Rhone profile. High alcohol is the notable flaw at this point. Very good now, was probably better in its first 10 years ...Would drink up, not likely to improve from here.
