Saturday, May 14, 2011 - Florence & Tuscan Holiday; 5/9/2011-5/16/2011 (Florence & Tuscany): Popped and poured. 80% Sangiovese, 20% a selection of malvasia nera, merlot and cabernet franc

Nose: Very rich nose. The merlot comes out with some spice on the nose. A delightful hit of olive tapenade at the backend. Very cool climate kind of bouquet.

Taste: Still very young and primary, needs lots of time in the cellar or in the air. A very refined power compared to other Chianti Classicos I've had over the past week. A darker refined style. Good structure and loaded with sweet tannins. A gentleman's Chianti Classico
