Friday, May 23, 2014 - PnP. Pretty dark garnet color with a touch of purple. First holding back a little, but after a few minutes in the glass the nose opens up with beautiful notes of mainly dark cherries, black currant, plums, kirsch, graphite/charcoal, some licorice and provencal herbs/garrigue. On the palate there are again notes of dark cherries, kirsch, but also some red fruit, some sweet spices, graphite, herbs and a touch of dried fruit and tobacco. It's full-bodied and dense, the alcohol is slightly recognizable but hidden under a wealth of fruit and extract. Medium(-) acidity and medium-high tannin add structure. The tannin is still a little rough but of good quality. Very long finish. This is a fantastic, opulent but very complex CdP. It's still a baby in terms of evolution but I'm sure it will grow into something very very beautiful.
