91 Points

Friday, February 5, 2010 - In a night of highly rated wines (some rightly some less so) this stood out, even against the wonderful 1990 Leoville Barton. Meaty, full bodied mint and licorice nose and meaty body that delivers the promise of the aromatics. Balance is not pinpoint, but second only to te L-B. Not the best vintage of Ornellaia but still a truly outstanding wine. No it's not on the level of the L-B, and never will be, but it's opulent, hedonistic and a proper party animal.
