91 Points

Wednesday, December 9, 2015 - Tasted blind. Translucent ruby color turning crimson at the rim with a transparent edge. The nose is sharp and tangy with notes of cherry, raspberry, currants, chocolate, cola and a spice that can be persistently felt. The palate is medium bodied with bright, heightened acidity and a silky texture. Flavors of currants, plum, raspberry, espresso, smoke and meat are acutely concentrated that produces a long, zingy finish with mineral-laced tannin. At this point, it seems that the wine has developed considerable age, and has reached its peak. It should be drunk NOW but could probably keep until 2019. 91+
