Thursday, April 19, 2018 - Dinner at In Situ, SF. From 750ml. Popped and poured.

Absolutely on form tonight, this wine reminded me of why one puts up with premox risks and sky high prices for an occasional taste of greatness from white burgundy. Pure, energetic and focused, the wine betrayed little of the flabby ripeness of the vintage, but rather a multifaceted nose and pulsating minerality on a long complex finish. Our very knowledgeable guest guessed GG Riesling when served blind (perhaps in part because she knows my affinity for such things), but I completely understand how she could come to that conclusion. A wine to remember.
