Thursday, August 23, 2018 - At dinner. Brief note. Pours a deep golden yellow in the glass. Nose is advanced showing roasted almonds and bitter honey. Palate too upon first pour is also advanced showing the same as the nose. With time, however, the palate manages to freshen up, and although it never fully comes around, it shows lively caramelized lemon, baked red apple and limestone chalkiness. Midpalate has a full and rich oily quality to it that commands a great presence yet manages to be light as a cloud at the same time. Long finish shows glimpses of layers of what should have been but is certainly and unfortunately marred by its advancement.
