  • probably similar score to prior bottle, it suffered a little coming after a wonderful Dujac Charmes, which was only 3 years older but massively more evolved. This is a young pup that probably should be revisited in 10+ years, as it was dense, precise, powerful, though not expressing much terroir. As Mike put it, very Ponsot-like in that regard

  • Beautiful nose with purple fruits, flowers and minerals, it showcases the vintages chiseled savory fruit profile, with great energy and emergence of secondary nuances like leather and tobacco. This was a vintage they kept yields low and it shows

  • Needed some time to wake up, after some air rose petals and menthol. Lovely wine, elegant and deep. Nuanced, pretty, and vibrant, with an earthy core and a faint note of sweet tobacco. I adore this wine, sadly my only bottle.

  • (Mostly) 90s Burgs in Indy (Vida): Very pretty - a lovely fragrance with lots of high toned spicy and floral notes, and more savoury/bass notes of earth and mushrooms framing a core of red fruit that's still very fresh and lively. Medium weight on the palate and drinking very nicely with the tannins mostly integrated, and a long, savoury finish.

  • Completely closed down upon opening, this wine blossomed over several hours in the decanter/glass. Served side by side with the 2000 DRC Grand Ech, this wine had a notably darker color, and initially darker fruit on the nose. Somewhat of a chameleon, at times the nose was most expressive, and then a few minutes later quite tight again. Incredible Vosne spice, particularly in the mouth. This got better and better with air, big presence in the mouth and good finish. Very easy to see that this wine and the DRC were from the same place, with the DRC showing more presence from the stems. This wine will hold for years to come--decant now if you open one.

  • Color more brick than ruby and even showing some amber at the rim, but on nose and palate this is not showing any signs of deterioration. Niether super complex nor one-dimensional, this is simply a well-made and very satisfying mature red burg with a great balance between the fruit and acidity.

  • Classic spicy Vosne nose, this wine really delivered on all counts. Drinking exceptionally well now but should continue to improve over the next few years. Outstanding.
