Perfect. Flawless. Light golden yellow color. Plenty of bubbles. No sediment. No rim variation. Low to Medium fruit intensity. Nose of grapefruit, lemon, lime, pears, white flowers. Dry. Low acid. Low tannin. Medium to medium minus alcohol, and, a long, long finish. In my opinion this is the essence of Franciacorta sparkling wine. And, it is simply the essence of any sparkling. Best I have ever had. Perfectly drinkable. This big boy has an amazing bottle life left. Sadly, my one and only. If you have this one, enjoy.

65%chard, 25%pinotblanc, 10% Pinot noir. Solid and rich nose. 7 and a half years on the lees. Loaded palate, rich and dry all together, nose seems to feel like more Pinot noir, but... Loads of ash on the palate. Mmmm

7 years on the lees, smells like a chablis. 55% chardonnay, 30% Pinot Bianco, and then 15% Pinot Noir. Really is like pure Chablis, rather amazing stuff. Hmmm....

Gambero Rosso (Metropolitan Pavilion): The nose showed fresh wheat, almond and peaches. On the palate, I found apple and lemon leading to a fresh finish with vibrant, mouthwatering acidity.

Single blind tasting of 12 champagnes and sparkling wines: Mature and complex. Elegant. Baked apples. Saline minerality, almost a Kimmeridigian quality. Quite noble. Wine of the tasting, a fraction ahead of La Grande Annee 04.

Richness, complexity and minerality stood out. Lunch at The World Wine Symposium.
