May have waited too long to try this wine. Nevertheless, enjoyed with Sunday afternoon pesto pasta and chicken enchiladas. Blackberries on the nose; decanted and strained to remove the sediment; nice spice and pepper on the palate with ample acidity.

This was nice and the fruit was relatively good, but not nearly as good as the 2010 bedrock syrah we had a few days before. Just didn't have the same level of richness. Could be the vines just weren't as old with the GF.

Pop/Pour. Solid dark leaning red fruit, which are especially bright and tasty on the mid palate which falls off a bit on the medium/short finish. The attack was odd as it initially felt a bit tired but the mid palate was full of fresh fruit. Very good, but not sure I would seek out again as one could do MUCH better for the price ($25-$45)

Beautiful nose right apon opening pure raspberry goodness, on the palate alive and balanced so sexy, this is one of those wines that we needed a magnum for the 4 of us, we wish we had another bottle to drink,

Subdued nose... a little alcohol and traces of fruit and minerals. Bracing but delicious and balanced acids, some dark fruit and a mineral edge on the palate. Nicely balanced, smooth texture and mouth-filling. Medium, warm finish. Good stuff.

Drank this along side a really nice Cotes du Rhone and the nose on both wines were strikingly similiar. This was right there with the CdR in nose and acidity. This was no fruit bomb. It was a little fuller and riper than the CdR but this was very well balanced and a nice example of what Syrah can be in California.

Delicious. I didn't take formal notes, but this is a wonderful cool climate syrah. Very reserved, absolutely my style of syrah. I think it will only improve with a few more years in the bottle.

Deep opaque violet. PnP. Austere dark fruit with a subtle top note of cherry cola and minerals on the nose. Rich dark fruits and pronounced cherry cola on the palate. Nicely acidic, well balanced. I might have guessed this was a Pinot Noir if tasted blind. Definitely old-world in style. Very nice. 1st glass had a shocking teaspoon of black chunky sediment in the bottom of the glass! (6 months later... I wonder if in fact this WAS a pinot noir? I had both the syrah and the pinot in the cellar, and right now I have one extra syrah and I'm short one pinot. And these descriptors don't fit the other bottles of the syrah).

This has improved since the last visit. Now with some interesting floral notes on the palate. Violets? Delicious.

Deep dark purple in color, very full on the pallet - decanted and it was open and great. Have not been disappointed by this vineyard.

Wife thought this was French (N. Rhone) and I can see why -- surprising acidity for a Cali Syrah. Really lovely if you like that style.

White pepper and play-doh on the nose. Very well balanced, was expecting typical over fruit Cali Syrah. Medium finish.

Red berries, vanilla cream, and well balanced acidity on the medium to full body. Smooth mouthfeel and very easy to drink.

Great color, blackberry flavor with a hint of pepper. Earthy layers of leather and mushroom with a slight tannic grip. Great bottle of wine!
