A lot of toasted oak on the nose at first, followed by cardamom pods, cola, vanilla, over ripe strawberries/jam, over ripe blackberries, warm spices and red flower petals. Smells extracted and like it's going to be big. Medium + intensity of aromas. The palate starts with the over ripe/jammy dark fruits and then finishes with the vanilla and some smoked wood. The flavors are consistent with the aromas even if they come in a different order.
Dry and full bodied with medium + acid and medium - tannin. Don't think this was meant to age at all. Drink now.
This is not to my palate at all, I prefer this producer's other wines. But it is well made and good for what it is. Most Americans would probably pair this with red meat. I would just drink it on its own.

Purchased at local store as a suggestion for both the wife and me. Not too bold, not too light. Recommendation is spot on. She likes it, which is a victory. Lots of Oak and tannins present. Notes of licorice and earthy tones. Fruit is black currant with some black pepper. Take your time with this wine. Opens nicely and I continued to enjoy more & more. Vanilla emerged and the finish opened to more complexity More for her, but it's good.

Pop and pour. Really jammy red, which seemed like a kitchen sink kind of blend. Loads of fruit, and some nice tannin on the finish. Very easy drinking, not so complex, and not bad with food.

Paso Robles wines (and a couple more) (Scott & Jo's): This was a non vintage wine and I don't know when it was purchased. I got the impression that this was a relatively inexpensive wine. I thought it had some Zinfandel in there, maybe with some Cab. Its a nice wine, but more on the simple side. The nose has cherry coke but not as pronounced. On the palate, cherries and slight spice. Not much going on here good or bad.

Full Boar Red varies quite a bit from lot to lot. This bottle was purchased from the winery on 08/28/2013, and the tasting room staff told me that this lot was just released earlier in August. It may very well be the best Full Boar Red to date. It tastes to be primarily Zin, I'm sure with a hodgepodge of other stuff blended in. I'd characterize this wine as a lighter form of the Eberle Zin.
Outstanding QPR. I'll be stocking up ....

I like Eberle and the wine is a good QPR at the price point, but just not my cup of tea personally. Tastes a little flat, with some good cinnamon or cardamom, but not their best offering. Agree with other notes that it's a great "house" wine if you're serving a bunch of people and need something solid without breaking the bank.

Having now enjoyed three bottles, I find this is a pleasant, dependable go-to daily wine. To that end, I can't get so excited as to score it anything higher than an 84.

Dark, with a chunk of sediment clunking out on the first pour. I was concerned but it turned out ok. Not the best I've had, but a decent every night table wine.

Very enjoyable red blend that includes Spanish and Italian varieties along with Cab and Zinfandel. Black cherry and blackberry aromas lead to a spicy blackberry and cherry dominated palate. Floral finish, with some spice. Food friendly.

I really need to buy this by the case. It's just a great bottling year in and year out. Wonderful fruit, great spice and nice oak. This is as easy drinking as it gets.

Buy by the case...this is a no-brainer if you like fruit driven CA reds. Don't let the NV designation throw you. This is a great wine for everyday occasions. I always make the mistake of only picking up a few bottles and with the club discount it's worth at least a 6 pack.

Very nice. "Quaffable." Probably the best QPR I have in my coolers. Purchased from the winery, enjoyed the first bottle over the weekend and wish I'd bought more.

This is a bargain, to be sure. The nose is pleasant - some vegetal, mostly ripe fruit, and very little alcohol. Medium complexity to the nose - nice enough to be enjoyable, but certainly not similar to a complex cab or big pinot. Blackberry jam, some sweet squash, clean finish - just a bit sharp at the end of the finish. Overall texture is quite smooth and silky - nice on such an affordable wine ($10-ish). So far, this is my front-runner for a daily drinker - hopefully I can pick up more from the winery...

Doug’s: A nice, subdued nose at first, but then more blue, blackberry flavors; incredibly smooth, med. body, well bal., Maybe Cab/Zin? Enjoyed this, lots of understated flavor in mth, good fin.
