ZAP TRADE TASTING, nose of mint, black cherry, and sage, same on the palate, big body, lovely, rich, simple, supple, and a long finish, slightly tired but still kicking.

Beautiful. Dark and no sign of age. Menthol, Black Cherry, blackberry on the nose. Follows through with same in the mouth with additional cranberry and spice. Finishes with dark chocolate/caramel/cranberry. I loved it young and I love it old.

More austere than before. Fruits seem to be dissipating. More mineral flavors with some brambly undertones. Finishes clean crisp acidic. Overall I didn't like it as much as I did before.

Closed and tannic upon opening. Was much, much better next day. Cherry and cocoa with a nice oak backbone. Fruit lingers along with spice and loam. Probably needs a couple more years, but okay if you decant vigorously.

WOW -- loved it -- love the products made at this family winery. vanilla is the first thing you smell and taste then a great Zin with traditional falvors bursts through in the end.

San Antonio Wine Geeks (Pasha 1604): Very ripe cherry, plum, and boysenberry with vanilla. Very strong vanilla on the palate and finish, with a sweet almost milk shake character. Smooth round palate. Easy drinking, though the oak was off putting. Did have enough acidity to keep it fresh. 89-91

Just drinkable. The cardboard on the nose upon opening gradually blew off with time, leaving not unpleasant plum and dark cherry aromas. It was still not, however, a crowd pleaser.

Splash decant. Juicy red and dark berries along with a loamy earthiness on the nose. Full bodied though carries it's weight well with bright acidity, chewy mtn fruit tannins and well integrated oak. Very food friendly styled zin

Almost pinot-like it ist weight and mouthfeel. Soft tannis and red fruits and briary and underbrushy component and a kiss of spice on the finish. Undecided if the lighter weight makes the wine special or thin. Will need to re-evaluate. Leaning towards the former, however.

Fresh purple color; dark berry nose; restrained but still noticeable fruit, tanins evident, should be a well balanced wine over time. Enyoyable now, but time will add value.

Nice Zin but not the best year for Lamborn ... a little muted

For Lamborn this is only an OK effort -- hoping the bottle was off and this is not what the rest of my 08's will taste like

Really drinking well today. Last two bottles seem to go through a weird period but this one pulled us back in.

Very tasty Zinfandel - lighter and fresher than most Zins we've had before. Almost a Cabernet feel.

Bold ripe red fruit, vanilla, and earth. Mellows slightly with time in the glass. Would likely benefit from a few more years in the bottle.
