I'm a little confused by this wine. I don't know if it's waiting to open up and needs time or whether it's just lean and this is all it's going to do. I've got 1 more bottle that I'll wait a few years to try. Regardless, it's an enjoyable bottle.
Tasted blind. We were guessing CabSav mix due to the aroma profile of dark fruit with some leafy and forest floor elements but found it hard to place it. There is very good ripeness here, the wine feels young and in need of more age. Big surprise to see that this is a Chinon. Usually they are much leaner but may be this is 2009 speaking. Good stuff. Drink after 2025.

Medium red colour; fresh, light to medium weight, quite elegant, with a slightly grassy element to the flavour and some more mature savoury notes. Should still keep well, but I am not sure it will improve.

Quite lively, with youthful fruit; slightly leafy, with good depth and some tannin. It closed up a bit after a while, which suggests it may need a few more years in bottle to mature fully.

A fairly deep, bright colour; fresh, lively and quite youthful fruit with a slightly leafy character; medium to full on the palate with some tannin. Should improve over the next 2 to 3 years as it matures.

Elegant nose of black cherries and a high end floral note, followed by a full, concentrated body to rival our California and Washington wines with beautiful and fresh fruit flavors, held in perfect balance with both mild tannins and mild acidity. Long, fruit driven finish. Just a beautifully made wine that easily could hold its own in both the New World and Old World. Enjoyed with veal in the Loire valley.

The 2009 Joguet Clos du Chêne Vert bursts from the glass with vivid aromas of spicy blackberry, mint, loamy soil and subtle oak, displaying an intriguingly complex combination of ripe fruits and more herbal aromas. On the palate, this Cabernet Franc is amply endowed with flavor: there is just so much intensity packed into a relatively medium-bodied wine, and while it is already generous, as its core of tannin and acidity unwinds this wine clearly has a lot more to give—as a compellingly savory and persistent finish indicate.

Superbe !

2009 Loire Valley Cab Francs (Vin Vino Wine, Palo Alto, CA): Big nose of vanilla, deep black fruit with a hint of green. Medium to full bodied with medium acidity. Dense black plum and blackberry fruit with green herb notes woven through. Significant tannins make this mouthcoating and long. Big but balanced, this needs a lot of of time but has tons of potential.

Tannic and astringent after decanting. After about 45 min. it began to open up and show more depth. Rich but simple. I'll try another bottle soon.

Fabulous aroma; a little lean though, still with prominent tannins. Delicious with food. Drink over the next 5 years.

Very good but a bit young, still wound just a bit tight. No crime in drinking this now, but I think it still needs to come out of it's shell a bit.
