Deep ruby colour. Aromas of oak - coconut, vanilla, spice - nutmeg, over jammy (and generic) black and red fruit. In the mouth the oak is prevalent again with flavours off nutmeg over the black fruit. medium plus finish. good but a little obvious.

Like this a lot. Boysenberry and cherry aromas, echoed in the flavors with a lot of black pepper in the midpalate. Spicy finish of allspice and clove. Some smoke. Very good, well-balanced Zin.

Very versatile zin, with aromas of bing cherries and black currant, echoed in the flavors which take on spicy notes. There's a great lift in the midpalate which keeps the wine from tasting heavy.

Ok, I admit it. I bought this bottle for the cool label and for Coppola's reputation/pricepoint. I served with leftover beef stew and it did better the second night than the first. I agree with the other taster that this does not display typical zin qualities. Still a bit of alcohol on the first pass- maybe I should have saved tis for another year or two. But its not bad for the price.

I was surprised last night to come home and have my wife tell me she wanted me to taste a wine. She had bought a bottle of Director’s Cut even though we have shelves of great Zin. The bottle had been open for about 25 minutes. It was a good but not perfect color. This was a dark but not inky purple. At first I thought it was a burgundy, I even guessed a syrah. Wrong. It kind of grew on both of us. It needs some more time but we got cherries, pepper and a soilly merlot feel to this wine. I liked it for an under 20 dollar pick.

This was a magnum. Opened at Sip & Sail. Nice dark color. Good fruit and nose. Great hit as several people came back to have more of this wine.

Always an exceptional zin. As my wife says, "A great pop & pour". Great fruit with dark berries.

Well balanced for a Zin. Earthy fruits with a chewy tannin finish.

A lot more subdued on the fruit than I expected with an inviting soft mouthfeel. I liked this.
