What a nice bordeaux blend. This has a bright fruit component without being jammy and an impressive amount of oak, but it some how pulls it all off in a delicious manner.

Tasted at Brix in Omaha. Nose: Medium expressiveness, dark fruit - black berry and cassis with undertones of raspberry and cherry. Palate: Medium to full bodied, gritty dark chocolate and dark fruit carries nicely right the mid-palate to the back-end and dominates a lengthy satisfying finish.

Palate: Muted attack followed by a surging crescendo that dramatically overwhelms the palate. Jammy, but also a strong dose of tannins. Initial taste lacked some complexity; overwhelmed by the fullness of the body. Second taste really reinforces the dense, intensity of this wine, but also reveals a hint of orange peel. I get some well-buried honey on the third taste. This wine would go well with some very hearty meat. Probably could use decanting as well (if only I had the energy). Will be interesting to see how it opens up over time. [Later: doesn't seem to evolve past brutishness. Still good, but not great]
Finish: Long finish, marked by a reasonably odd bitterness. It seems to reclaim some of the pleasure from the body. Over extracted perhaps? (that's not meant to be glib; genuinely wondering)

Had this at a Morton's wine tasting event and it was very good. Historically I have not been a big Stags Leap fan as I found their wines too tight and dry. This wine breaks the mold of their past and exhibits velvet tannins and a smooth finish. Hints of black cherries and creme.

delicious. opens with distinctly cabernet notes laced with oak/vanilla but then moves through the palate to a chewy finish with a touch of chalk/minerality.

The wine is on the lighter side of a bordeaux blend. Nose had hints of tobacco and dark fruit. I was surprised how light the blend was. This wine continued to evolve and would suggest giving it some time to breath. Finish was pretty good. For the money I think this is a good wine but be warned, this is not Fay or something of that caliber.

Great nose. This wine gets smoother and smoother as it warms in your glass. Similar to my 2/9/2012 notes.

Immediate attack of jammy black fruits and mouth drying tannins. Better on day 2, but it never really came together.

Tone: Very deep, dark red. Opaque until the very edges
Nose: Intoxicatingly svelte; cherry; cinnamon; apricot

Good for food. Doesn't stand well on it's own.

Nose of violets and spice. Mouth is a good balance of fruit, tannin, and spice but thinner than one might think. Still a tasty wine.
