I paid $50 for this... what a buy (admittedly 8-9 years ago, before to price spike in wine)... what a beautiful red burg... dense and on the dark side of red fruit, with acidity for balance... feels like this can go 10-15 more years and I think maybe still improve, felt like it had a hint of bitterness (oak still?)... but what an awesome wine for the price... my son said he loved the nose on this (which we rarely discuss) when he grabbed his first glass, love Comte Lafon, only sad part is the GIANT spike in the cost of his Meursault whites

Darker red than expected, red rim with some signs of age. Restrained nose, seems to need some time to open up, red cherries and strawberries, vines. Acidity, muted cherries, good body and a little sweetness. Difficult at this point - has something to it, but closed right now. Is this past it, or needs more time? Has the acidity to last many years.

Big medium-red fruit with touches of blueberry. Still on the young side, but very very good to drink now. Benefited with 90 minutes of air. Good definition. Only lacks the refinement of the best appellations.

Dark and still quite brooding with the warmth of the vintage showing. This took time to open up and was probably best on day 2. Refinement in the cellar brought to a fairly rustic terroir. Very enjoyable, but not great value.

served at the USC Marshall Partners Casino Party at our place, didn't pay enough attention when i sampled this so no rating... commentary from guests suggested it was again a crowd pleaser (even if they preferred the - IMHO - not so great / over extracted Kistler pinot alongside)

as always this wine pleased the crowd, was full and rich with loads of palate, but this time in addition to the nice fruit / acid combo i started to get some secondary spices… very nice night for this bottle, had at Sacred Heart Schools cioppino dinner

this wine performed well, but seemed a little shut down or simplified relative to my previous experiences, may have suffered next to sherwin family '04 cab which blew us away, this was nice easy drinking but simple with no secondary notes like earth, spice, tannin, grip etc, have a case more so hoping this is temporary dip

wow was i impressed with this, fits my hypothesis that in good years with ripeness Beaune wines benefit disproportionately to their gen'ly more well respected Nuits counterparts, dark ruby/purple color - looking young as u wld expect, immediate funk on the nose which turned fruity (blue/bk) within minutes, big nose of ripe fruit with just a touch of spice for an accent, palate was big too -- both fruit and some light spice (cinnamon?), big but not overdone with good acidity (1st comment from joe was love that acid)... i am optimistic that this wine's fruit will continue to be big and the secondary flavors will build... definite buy / great QPR... this could go up 2 or more points over time

popped and was immediately awesome, big nose of red fruits, great lively palate of red fruit and bright acidity with some of those powdery tannins / texture that i occasionally see in 20 year old bottles and love -- at this point would have given 92 plus score, interestingly i corked it and went back to it several hours later and had shut down, hence the score... have five more, will try one more but i same shut down i'll wait a few years

Fairly deep colour. Lifted, sappy nose of red fruits, flowers and spices. Juicy palate with fine grained tannins and long succulent finish. Delicious now but will be better...

Opened and poured, this wine gave a very good to excellent showing. The wine displays aromatics of spice, red berries and floral notes. The color is a youthful medium to dark ruby. The medium bodied palate shows richness and balance. The wine finishes with somewhat rustic tannins and good acidity with that wavers between short and medium in length. This drinks well now and if it can develop more complexity and harmony the wine could give an outstanding showing.

Red fruits. Not much development. Decent quaff. It just feels a bit hollow on the mid-palate. It shows somewhat innocuous.

Really good. For a ripe vintage this had some nice crunchy fruits.
