For the money paid and the many years of proper cellaring, I was expecting more. Just a little lighter in color in the glass than other PSs we've had. We didn't have the aeromatics that others talked about upon opening. Decanted a full two hours prior to drinkings ... smooth with flavors of black/blue-black fruit and a touch of vanilla. Pretty seamless, I was just expecting more for the price and patience prior to drinking.

Once the bottle has been opened and the aroma fills the air, the rest is history. This wonderfully put together bottle has all of the nose and flavor that you could ask for. It's color is so dark that it almost looks black.

It's better than 90; I just don't know what to put... From the moment the server popped the cork and started to decant, the aroma just filled the room. So dark, plenty of fruit, so smooth with a flavor that just lingered. I think SMOOTH is the keyword.

Not sure if the bottle made the Prime Rib better; or the Prime Rib made the bottle better. In any event I/we now know of all of the fragrant aroma's in heaven. It really was that good.

Start with 90; it could have been greater--time will tell. The fruit was just busting out of the bottle, filling the air with wonderful flavors. A pleasure for us and the staff at KC. I can't imagine what the future holds for the 5 bottles that remain.

Decanted 30 minutes (needs a good 2 hours). As expected a dark, brooding color in the glass. Very grapey in the nose (almost Welches like). Dark fruit and very juicy wine - tannins that were not over the top for such a young petite sirah - will need to progress check this one for longevity. For now its a hold.

Wonderful PS. Great deep purple color. Age does well for Rattlesnake Acres bottles, and this is drinking very nicely now. Even better on second day.

Loved it. The flavors and nose just jumped out of the decanter. This is the wine that makes you forget food that's just fair.

Buy the best, then drink the best. VA wines are outstanding.

Slight bit of cork taint. Other than that, lots of fruit. Not terribly complex, but does taste great.
