Dark, dense, inky red colour. Dark fruits on the nose - spice and a bit of musk. Liquorice, sarsaparilla, spice and dark fruit flavours along with a touch of bitter dark chocolate. A bit of acid freshness. Long finish. Very enjoyable and drinking well with plenty of life left.

Delicious, full bodied, great example from Barossa The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are slow. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry and black currant (cassis). The body is full. The wine has juicy texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

Screwcap, 14.5% alc. Still some purple hues to the inky red-black colour. Very high fill level, with very little air space under the screwcap.
Blackberry, vanilla, prune, star anise, menthol, chocolate, and leather on the nose.
Glossy and richly flavoured, medium-full bodied. At 15 years of age, it still retains a silty tannic grip. Excellent persistence, finishing with a bright and fresh berry flavour that is very satisfying.
Opinion: Great depth, but not at all heavy. If anything, it is rather elegant for a powerhouse Barossa Shiraz. Great with food. Drink any time over the next 10 years.

Beautiful, heavy red. Still got some fruit. Very dark red. Would have scored higher if consumed completely during the steak meal but was a tad heavy by itself afterwards.

Absolutely at its best. Deep dark red with no browning at the edges, wood integrating with the fruit (dark berries and plum) slight chocolate/vanilla, silky tannins, excellent mid palate and length. Full credit to Andrew Wigan, not just for the superb wine but also for convincing the team to switch their premium red to screwcap.

After a two hour decant, this is fleshy, even a bit flabby with noticeable oak treatment. Of course there is plenty of ripe fruit here but there isn’t much focus or balance to the wine to sustain interest. I actually enjoyed it a bit more before I decanted it!

This is good. 1 Hour breathing, subdued fruit, vanilla/caramel wood, good line of acid and smooth tannins. Excellent length. In a very good drinking window. 92

Decanted twenty minutes. I didn’t enjoy it. A bit monolithic with lots of oak an a touch of heat. A day later out of the fridge it’s much better. Blackberry and tobacco nose. The palate has delicious black fruit, cigar box and spices. The oak has integrated into the wine reasonably well although there are still some rough edge here and there. The wine is mature but can age a bit longer although I don’t think it will ever develop myluch complexity.

Drinking very well. The fruit is similar to last time, but the intensity is not quite the same. More balanced and structured than last time. For me this is hitting its peak, though is not showing any signs of dropping off.

This is good! Amazingly youthful. Vibrant red/purple. Red and dark fruits and creamy wood on the bouquet. On the palate, a touch of spice, ripe red fruit, faint chocolate. Luscious body and great length. Only two bottles left, hope I can keep my hands off them for another 5+ years. Good thing is I don't have to worry about corks. 93+

Rubi violáceo profundo. Amoras, ameixas pretas, cassis, alcaçuz, defumados, azeitonas pretas e chocolate meio amargo. Intenso, encorpado mas com um frescor e um meio de boca com bela fluidez que dão equilíbrio e refinamento ao conjunto. Um final longo com condimentos e chocolate. Um Barossa clássico em grande forma.

Almost all the elements in this wine are in my sweet spot. The fruit is powerful and at the same time restrained. Most importantly it is not overripe in any degree. I get dark fruits, some plum, liquorice and tobacco leaf. The acidity is refined and the tannins are robust and smooth at the same time. Its medium bodied with a long finish. Overall an excellent wine with a long life ahead of it.

Fruit bomb upon opening, very ripe summer berry forward. 3 hrs into the decanter it settles the fruit burns off into a structured, full bodied, dry, savoury medium finish. Still a young wine, try again 2020. Very enjoyable though.

Regrettably no decanter available, drank immediately upon opening. Last glass was the best for sure, dark purple, sediment in the glass, dark berries, subtle oak, good medium mouth feel and solid medium + finish. Not your typical big bold fruit driven Barossa shiraz, softer and more stylistic. Love it! Will keep for quite a while yet, at least past 2020 easy.

Decanted 1 hour prior to drinking, which was clearly insufficient as the wine kept improving throughout the evening. The wine has a fabulous and savoury/sweet nose, all deep, dark fruits and a smokiness typical of Barossa Shiraz without the crazy over-extraction of other wines. On the palate the wine is extremely silky, with very lithe acidity and great medium bodied flavours of blueberry and smoked meats. This will will almost definitely improve considerably with more time, possibly 5-10 years before it's potential is fully realised. Lovely drop.

This is going to be a great wine. We tried upon opening and it was very weighty with a big nose and a short finish. But after a 2 hour decant, it was sublime - tremendous nose, electrifying on the palate right the way through and with a good finish.

A clean nose (no oxidation.) Bright red and black fruit. Still a baby - acidity and tannins to ensure its future. Will be a great wine one day. 93++ points.

Decanted but not for long. Lovely Shiraz nose - brambles and black fruits. Good on the palate but a bit hollow - not as mouth filling as I expected. Medium finish. Good but not great. Hopefully this will put on weight as it ages?

Dark purple to black in colour. Enticing smell of chocolate and black fruits. Very much the same in the mouth with very good length and depth of flavour. I perhaps was looking for a bit more complexity, but this might develop with a bit of age. Very much a classic example of a beautifully made fruit driven Barossa. Maybe not as good as the 2004 or 2002 vintages which I've also had.

Good, easy-to-drink 100% Shiraz wine. Nothing special though. The 2006 vintage of Lehmann's Stonewell Shiraz is no match for some of the earlier vintages, and definitely not worth its high price tag.

A deep red to dark purple in the glass. The nose has plum, cooked meats and a hint of mint, the fruit on the palate is well defined with red and black fruits creating layers of flavor that play well with exceptional quality oak and fine integrated tannins. The wine is elegant and balanced, yet has tremendous depth of flavor and length. A classic wine from an excellent Barossa vintage. Review Link - www.winereviewer.com.au (drink by 2020)
