Rich, ripe, smooth and still grippy in April 2020. A thoroughly enjoyable California cab that can still stand up to a dry aged Ribeye. The fruit is married with cedar and speice and a peppery acidity. Incredible QPR. I wish I had more.

A very good food wine. Still vibrant and big at 10 years. Black fruit cassis and significant tannic structure. Well-balanced acidity. Cedar on the nose and a little dust on the palet. Slightly juicy when sipped but perfect with a burger. Plenty of time left. It drinks young.

Really deep garnet colour. Has the appearance of a wine several years older, but the pure, cassis fruity nose of a wine much younger. Only a hint of cedar wood & tobacco on the nose, which is youthful. Palate is about right though - cassis, and a smooth tannic mouthfeel, though the alcohol is a little hot. Benefits from decanting. Edit: also benefits from a good steak. With food, this became something quite different. Astonishingly smooth & elegant. Beautiful. (95)

this was a day 2 score; opened up very nicely to reveal nice balanced Cab, fruit and just a touch of leather, more the juicy 2007 style and not the most complex, but a good Cab for the reasonable price.

Openned and let breath for 45 mins. Very tannic. Drank a glass and enjoyed anyway. Let it decant more. After about a 2 hours the world will tilt in this wines flavour and she will become a shinning star. Patience is what she needs.

this was likely a re-release from their library/cellar. delicious. grippy upon opening, but 2.5 hours later (without decanting) it was really opening up. dark blackberry and currant fruits. full-bodied. more cocoa on the palate the longer it was open. could still lay this down for a while longer. great wine.

Was expecting more power. Suave and polished with nice fruit, but really needs to be turned up to '11'. Black cherry and blackberry abound - wish we had gotten the 'pencil shavings' and 'currant' from the wine buyer recommendation at Canal's. Soft, medium long finish, not very rich or opulent at all. At $36, its an 88, below $30 it would approach 90.

Cabernet Sauvignon tasting (Peterborough, Ontario): My favoruite of our Cabernet night. Cassis, cedar, chocolate, raspberry. Medium acidity, lots of tannic structure. This can use several years in the cellar to really shine. Long, juicy, ripe. Bit of Cab Franc & Merlot in the blend.

Classic full bodied Napa cab. Opened nicely over the evening. There is plenty of life left.

Eminently drinkable now but will likely improve. Nicely structured with balanced fruit and tannins. Decanted for 30 minutes.

Great nose. Deep dark fruit. Too young to have drunk, but will be great in a couple of years; still very tight.
