I found this bottle and bought it to the wine group dinner. What a surprise! I had several bottles every two years or so and they had been getting better and better. Several friends that had it said it still had plenty of fruit and some tannins and no acidity. It was delicious. I would say a year or so past its prime otherwise I would have given it 90 points. I will look for more from this producer.

This was our house wine for a while--interesting balance of acid, dark fruit and wood. We grew tired of it after a while but it was good at the price point, our friends always enjoyed it, and it was one of very few wines that pairs very well with Mexican food, interestingly!

Principally blueberry on the nose with some nice floral (lavender) and caramel notes following up. On the palate the barrel work took the upper hand and the wine finished on a very strong whisky lactone note.

Nose: raspberry and hot chocolate, a bit of alcohol, oak, dusty. Taste: Creamy, mouth-filling texture, yet a medium body wine. Definitely holds up better than most heavier body wine due to its texture. Bit of milk chocolate and black plum. Mostly dark fruits. Medium oak and it has a tiny bit of peppermint near the end. Dry and nice tannin. Good structure, and it is a bit like mint chocolate ice cream in a wine. Great sipping wine.

Took a little while to open up, but when it did, the slight earthy roughness rounded out to a silky, medium finish with hints of tobacco, chocolate and leather

Lovely, the right balance between power and finesse - Dark, well concentrated with a nose of plum, raspberry, spice and vanilla, well made, balanced, intense, decent complexity that will add with age, dry, smooth on the palate with excellent length (90 Points).

Surprisingly transparent ruby violet. Shy sweet vanilla, with a hint of nori nose. Sweet, smooth cherry cola entry with soft tannins & balanced acidity. Not overly oaky. Subtle minerality. Intriguing lemon ginger finish. Not bombastic. Notwithstanding Priorats in general being expensive this one @ C$33 is of dubious value.

I really enjoyed this wine. It was a fun balance of new world fruit (red cherry, plum) and old world earthyness with a touch of brett. I would buy again.

Espaņa Tasting (Wine Exchange. Orange, CA): Medium purple/red color. Medicinal / alcohol smell that reminds me of a hospital. Some beef on the nose too. Fine tannins with some nice acidity. Length around 20 secs. Good concentration. Gets better as you taste more.

Aging nicely now, decanted for 1 hr. Silky smooth, notes of dark fruit, tobacco, chocolate, hint of leather. Went well with our lamb ribs.

Not too much oak in this Priorat...medium bodied and nicely balanced. For what I paid, this was a steal.

Intriguing wine that starts off with a herbaceaous taste and firm but balance tannins and eventually opens up to on on berries and a long finish.
