Normal vino verde is crisp, slightly spritzy and costs £7 a bottle. This is crisp, very fizzy, and allegedly £28 a bottle if the wine club literature is to be believed, which it isn’t. I struggle to see the point.

Traditional method, 90% Maria Gomes, 10% Sercialinho from sandy soils. Zesty with lemon, lime and orange peel. A little tropical fruit action too - like those not-as-sweet pineapples. Salt and ocean prime with good minerality. Medium + acidity. Super drinkable.

Seems to be better than the last time I had this back in 2010. This actually had some character to it, with lively apple, pear and hints of herbs. The mouse seemed a bit clunky when first pours, but this settled down nicely with a fine bead. Still, not a lot of depth but a lot of bright, delicious flavors. Nice QPR as well for $14.

Can't find any vintage reference to vintage. Had a feel of some new oak. Lots of character. Savory, tarragon oil palate. Very fun and interesting sparkling. Palate exuberance is probably a bit much for some people.

If you read the back label, you will learn that this is not NV; my bottle contains wine from the 2008 vintage. Simple but very satisfying sparkling wine, with a dry, creamy finish. Nose and mouth dominated by apple and honey.
appears pale silver gold, lots of bubbles and fizz, smell screaming out of the glass, herbs, ginger, something floral, something savory, very, very inviting, opens up a bit more complex, mouthfeel very finely tuned and firm, taste gray stone, berry fruit, slight cooked apple, as opens tons and tons of cherry pit, savory delicious, I loved it and it went down very nicely. Perhaps a bit simple, but simply does not get tiring

Light gold. Apple pie, figs, and cristmas cake. Nice flavours and a dry finish. The mousse seemed to stay on top of the wine like beer or bulk process sparkler.

A blend of 95% Maria Gomes and 5% Arinto grapes. Beautiful lively medium size pearls, with an aromatic nose of honey, ripe pears, peaches, and a slight tinge of salt air. The palette is very flavorful and fruity with a creamy orange zest, golden apples, and a little tropical fruit like pineapple. Dry, with plush creamy bubbles, bright acidity, and a medium finish with a lip smacking aftertaste. This is a great sipper for the spring and summer and should work well with grilled sardines, fried calamari and and maybe some briny fresh oysters. This is a quality Portuguese sparkler with the second fermentation done in the bottle just like Champagne. If you like Cava and French Cremant you will certainly like this! Don't be a hater just because its from Portugal this juice is good! 3.5/5

Green on the eye. Light, fresh apple nose which follows through on the palate. Not terribly interesting but easy drinking and fresh nonetheless.

Lot 2009. Simple, light and a slight creaminess. Apple and cirtus flavors; a bit short.

Pretty generic and boring. Citrus, cidery. Fairly short. Label mentions this comes from the 2009 vintage.

P.I.G. Tasting 2006 (Northcote Manor): Fragrant and fresh on the nose. Decent refreshing stuff with individuality and character.
