Decanted for 30 mins. Lovely raspberry strawberry nose. Syrah prickle on the tongue but does not deliver much fruit in the mouth and finishes with quite austere tannin. Very acceptable with full flavoured foods but I was hoping for better harmony.

Berry fruit compote with strong black pepper notes. A musky aroma put me off slightly. Decent enough initial attack but seemed a touch thin thru the mid palate, and then withers away too quickly on the finish. We'll see where this goes.

WES - Northern Rhone (LSE Holborn): High intensity, no age showing. Pepper dominant on the nose. Black and red fruits - summer pud. Perfume and some muskiness. Rich, smooth, integrated, firm tannins. Long.

The novices in the group did not enjoy it on day one (not decanted but bottle uncorked for 7 hours prior to tasting). However, the elements in the wine which admittedly were quick disjointed on day one came together when tasted 24 hours later (bottle recorked and left on the table). The same group of people enjoyed it when the wine was served on day two.
Plenty of red and dark fruits with a decent amount to spice. High acidity and noticeable tannins. Long length. Looking forward to its evolution.

Give this at least 30 mins of air to blow off the bottle stink and it's pretty lovely

This has come round since last bottle. Much more harmonious with good balance of black fruit and mellow tannins.

Very austere. Dark fruit like a black cloud. Intense. A wine to be admired rather than enjoyed. Maybe it'll mellow with age.

Wine Education Service - The Northern Rhône (LSE): Deep blackcurrant colour, youthful.
Slightly animal, very fruity, beautiful nose.
Lovely fruit, some oak, soft tannins, slightly peppery, smooth mid palate, very long.

Funk, cedar, warm and rich, not obviously Syrah. Like this a lot and want to try again.
