Festival of Alex - Seppeltsfield Centenary Tour: Caramel, fig and a touch of a medicinal note. Moderate sweetness with similar intensity, feels well balanced with a light kick of spirit on the finish. Pretty nice!

Dark Amber, powerful lifted nose but a little pungent. Caramel, nutty nose and hints of smoke on the nose. Rich powerful entry, pretty pungent, carry along nice caramel, nutty note. Long powerful finish driven by alcohol. Good sweetness.

Nose of almond and flow. Palate shows Sherry-like flavours of almond, wheat, toffee, and light brandy. Dry, sharp entry, with a dollop of sweetness on the mid-palate, and a dry finish.

Qantas flight. Light amber almost orange colour, large rim. Big butterscotch nose, not alcohol dominated - very attractive. Raisins and nuts on the palate. Not too sweet. Nice long finish with alcohol only showing at the very end. I enjoyed this - works well at altitude.

Check-up on Australia with Tim Wildman, MW (Adelaide/Barossa): Medium amber. Medicinal nose of tobacco anise seeds, chamomile, butterscotch. Full bodied and unctuous but not heavy. Floral finish.

Delicious Aussie tawny. Full of dried fruits, spice and leather. Sweet but not sickly, unctuous but not glugy. Very drinkable.
