The last one in my cellar (L.1-03-11), and the best so far, similar to but even better than the previous bottle three years ago. Decanted for 90 minutes before serving. Same notes as then: Lovely aromatics; raspberry, strawberry, cherry, smoke, earth, herbs, minerals, white pepper; medium body; nice acid and tannin structure, with the tannins becoming more prominent with air; long floral and mineral finish; a harmonious, silky food wine. Still time ahead if stored properly, but I doubt it will improve. Very good QPR.

Decanted for one hour before serving. Lovely aromatics; raspberry, strawberry, cherry, smoke, earth, herbs, minerals, white pepper; medium body; nice acid and tannin structure, with the tannins becoming more prominent with air; long floral and mineral finish; at or past its peak, but with 5-7 good years left ahead if stored properly; a harmonious, silky food wine.

Fantastic aromatics of the Nerello varietal, opening up after several hours air time. I can just sit and smell this wine all evening, with my face buried in the glass. Reminds me of the floral perfume of top flight Burgundies, with the added dimensions of minerality and freshness. Roughly double the price of the entry level Rosso, this has some increased complexity, mostly from some added smokiness, ? perhaps from an increased proportion of new oak. The freshness of the red fruit, and aromas reminiscent of just-bruised strawberry skin, are very appealing.

A nose of smoke, cherry, earth, iron and lightly stalky. The palate is driven by tannin with savoury fruit supporting. Medium length and plenty of interesting elements.

Terre Nere ( Sicily) Tasting (Eldad Levy's home, Herzlia): Light and bright ruby color. Floweriness and berries on the nose. The palate in good harmony with the nose – fruity in the mouth, medium to full bodied, with sticking tannins.

Surprisingly youthful with much tannins at the end
But thirsty drinkers did not allow (or need) a decant last nite

Maybe judging it to low because of the other wines we had this evening, to alcoholic in the after taste, but still nice burgundy feel. Again.

Dusky red; ever so slight minerality, spicy white pepper, red berries, beautiful-- reminiscent of a Tempranillo, Rioja

More oak influence, herb and spice than the other crus. Needs some time for the oak to integrate.
